I ran on Saturday. Definitely able to get further – did about 1 1/4 mile run although I did have to walk part of it. I continue to feel so much better – amazing what physical activity does for the mind πŸ™‚

I had another boot camp session yesterday and oh my I am feeling the pain today. Honestly, I had to force myself to go but I am so glad I did. It was a great session. We ran, did lunges, squats, “push-ups”, tricep dips, lots of ab work, etc, etc. etc. I feel my running form is getting better and I am less winded as well.

Thank goodness I am only do this once a week – I think it might take me that long to recover πŸ™‚ j/k! I do plan to run and do weights during the week.

Still really enjoying Arctic Zero as well as Greek Yogurt and … Popchips. If you haven’t tried any of these products, I highly recommend them. Great treats without the guilt.

I had another boot camp session today and figured I’d post while I am still pain-free. I had a stressful morning so I was looking forward to this workout as I figured I wouldn’t be able to think during it. So true πŸ™‚

We ran in the rain around the track. We lunged around the track. Used weights and stepped up on the benches for added fun πŸ™‚ It was really cool running in the rain until it started to pour so we moved indoors to the karate building and did some kick boxing and ab work. Ohh, I can’t wait until tomorrow!

I am really enjoying the running. I know it will take a while to be able to run any distance but it feels great to do something totally outside of the box for me.

I should have taken a picture after running the track in the rain – kinda Alice Cooper meets Betty Boop πŸ™‚

Yup that is me running. I can’t believe how long it took to recover from Tuesday’s workout. I ran again yesterday and it still isn’t pretty. All those years of heels & never running have led to BammBamm instead of Wilma. I am enjoying it though, with all its’ pain. I love being outside and doing something active.

Thank goodness there were no cameras yesterday. Brian and I raced – he on a one foot hop and me running. Well, you know the outcome – hahaha πŸ™‚

I did a jog/walk today with Winny and my Mom. Mom, being 82, walks and Winny and I did a jog/walk. Gorgeous day to be outside.

Will report back after the next boot camp adventure.

Wow – lots of virtual dusting had to be done to see this site again. Oh how easy it is to fall off the exercise wagon! I am back though and thought I’d post. I think I got really bored with my routine which led to being a sedentary slug! I am paying for it now.

I started working out with a trainer in a boot camp type style. I am doing things I never have done before and I am feeling it πŸ™‚ Jogging, jumping, planks, etc are now part of the regime. All I gotta say is …Oh the pain πŸ™‚ Seriously though I like it. I enjoy being outside and doing things I haven’t ever done. Hard to believe I never really jogged, but I really have never jogged a track… walked – yes… but jogged – no. It is so different. After 1/4 mile I am winded. Looking forward to building that up! My trainer teaches a boot camp Monday – Friday at 5:30 am… not so sure that is in my future, but definitely will continue to work with her.

I met with Shae on Tuesday at 8:15 am. We jogged, stepped up on benches, did bicep curls, bench press, squats, ab work, etc. etc. I was unbelievably sore yesterday. Today is better. It is kinda funny. This was the second time I met with her. The first time we did a variety of things and I was sore the next day but not bad at all. Yesterday, however, was quite different. I felt like I was run over by a mack truck πŸ™‚ Today is better!

Anyway, this will be a diary of sorts to monitor my progress. I will eventually weigh in… not sure that will be pretty, but necessary to see how much damage I have done. I am still amazed it has been 5 months since I posted anything… Yikes!

Foods of the week – Greek yogurt, Arctic Zero and bananas. Of course I eat other things but I have been really enjoying those!

I had to switch the bedtime until midnight cause 11 pm just wasn’t happening. I wasn’t sore at all after all the heavy lifting on Wednesday – Yay! Even though I kept my calories in check, I went a bit over in my refined carbs… (holiday gift arrived)…

Crazy day today. I got a lot of exercise lifting boxes. I figure I lifted a total of over 1080 lbs!! up and down steps. It actually felt great!
